Kristin Gunn

Past Chair

Kristin grew up in Lawrence, Kansas and has lived in Salina since 1983. She received a B.S. from the University of Kansas (Secondary Science Education) and a Master of Public Administration (Environmental Policy) from the University of Washington. Prior to moving to Salina, Kristin worked for the Environmental Protection Agency and the Mid America Regional Council. She is currently retired from Salina Central where she taught Biology, Chemistry, and AP Chemistry; served as Science Department Chair; and was named USD 305 Teacher of the Year. Kristin chaired the Schilling Air Force Base Restoration Advisory Board and served as Citizen Liaison to the Salina Public Entities CEO working group. She was elected to two four year terms on the Salina City Commission, serving three of them as Mayor. Kristin has also presided as Chair of the Salina Planning Commission, Salina Regional Health Center Board, Friends of the River Board, and Salina Housing Authority.
