$6 Million Dollar Hangar Complex Begins Construction

The Salina Airport Authority has contracted with Busboom and Rauh Construction Company to build a new 69,000-square-foot hangar and office complex in anticipation of continue growth at the SLN Aviation Service Center.

Busboom and Rauh will begin construction of the $6 million project at the airport known as America's Fuel Stop this fall, and the new aviation complex will be available to tenants in June 2008.

The 69,000-square-foot modern hangar complex will feature 41,400-square-feet of hangar space, 22,600- square-feet of multi-purpose office space and 5,000- square-feet of customer service area. The hangar will be able to accommodate a 100-foot wingspan and 28- foot tail height.

  • New Runway Incursion Definition
  • SAA

    Any occurrence at an airport involving the incorrect presence of an aircraft, vehicle or person on the protected are of a surface designated for the landing and take-off of aircraft.

    Basically, any vehicle or pedestrian crossing the holding position marking or entering a runway, without the Air Traffice Control Tower's authorization, is a runway incursion even if there are no aircraft affected.
