Fall 2008 Completion of New Hangar Office Complex

The SLN Aviation Service Center is gearing up for the completion of the new hangar office complex in Fall 2008.

Metal building steel framing is 95 percent complete; wall sheeting is 30 percent complete; work is starting on the east two-story office area this week, all is contingent on the wind level.

The photo was taken from the south side of the hangar and shows the amount of work that has been completed on the siding and interior.

The 69,000-square-foot modern hangar complex will feature 41,400-square-feet of hangar space, 22,600- square-feet of multi-purpose office space and 5,000- square-feet of customer service area. The hangar will be able to accommodate a 100-foot wingspan and 28- foot tail height.

With all of those planes stopping for fuel, the SLN Air Traffic Control Tower is implementing new ground taxi procedures as an additional safety measure.
