Hangar 600 continues to advance
Hangar 600 is on track to be completed in the fall of
2008 and things continue to advance despite an
unusually wet winter.
Bob Miller, President of Busboom and Rauh
Construction Company, feels that they have been
lucky because they were able to take advantage of
pockets of good weather. "The heavy foundations are
done, so we can go ahead and start setting steel
whether it stays wet or not," said Miller
The footprint of the $6 million hangar project can now
be seen as the construction progresses. The 69,000-
square-foot modern hangar complex will feature
41,400-square-feet of hangar space, 22,600-
square-feet of multi-purpose office space and 5,000-
square-feet of customer service area. The hangar will
be able to accommodate a 100-foot wingspan and 28-
foot tail height.

Great Lakes Flight to Denver

In anticipation of the Denver flights from Salina on
Great Lakes Airlines, I drove to Hays a couple of
weeks ago and flew to Denver on the morning flight. I
thought how great it is going to be not to have to leave
at 6 a.m. and drive for an hour and a half before flying
into Denver.

All Kansas Air Tour comes to Salina

Just 80 years ago, a bunch of pilots flew around
Kansas to the thrill of thousands of on-lookers. The
80th Anniversary Celebration of the All Kansas Air
Tour will prove that Kansans are still "air-minded." In
1928, investment in aviation required forward thinking
leaders. Today, general aviation brings a total
economic impact to this state of $7 billion. To
celebrate our history and to a little fun, several
Kansas communities will be participating in the event.
Please check out the Web site at
http://kansasairto
ur.ksdot.org
The event takes place from April 1-7, 2008. There is
still time to register by going to the above Web site
and finding the registration form titled Participating
Aircraft Bid.
