Salina,
Kan., (December 1, 2010) - Walk, run, drive or fly, but don't miss Candy
Canes and Airplanes at the Salina Airport's Hangar 600 (2720 Arnold)
Saturday at 2 p.m.
Among the
candy canes and Christmas folk will be aircraft displays including a
Blackhawk, Hornet, Pilatus, Husky, Luscombe and Skyhawk. Pilots are
encouraged to fly-in and taxi their planes to the hangar for easy
access.
While
Santa's reindeer are resting up for the big day, Santa will arrive in his
Christmas plane "Santa One," piloted by Capt. Elvin T. Elf at
2:15 p.m. Children are asked to help greet Santa as he arrives with a
welcome banner to let him know they've been good this year. Milk,
cookies and cocoa will be provided free of charge while supplies
last!
Santa
will be available for photos provided by On The Record, K-State Salina's
student newspaper. Other clubs will be providing some extra Christmas
fun. A small donation is requested for all student activities.
SeaPort
Airlines will provide tours of the Pilatus and favors for the kids.
They will also raffle off four ticket vouchers for flights on SeaPort
Airlines.
Look for
the Airport Event signs along Centennial to take you to the hangar by
car. Pilots request directions from tower.
