K-State, Salina's Women in Aviation, International chapter will wash and wax planes Saturday, Nov. 13, while the pilots enjoy aviation movies, free popcorn and soda and even a CF-18 display courtesy of the Canadian Air Force 425 Tactical Fighter Squadron out of Bagotville in Quebec.

The event will be held on the east side of the Salina Municipal Airport's Hangar 600 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.  For a tax-deductible minimum donation of $150 the Women in Aviation offer a wash and wax or $50 for a wash only.  For those who would like to enjoy the movies and refreshments as well as the static display, but not receive a wash and wax are asked to provide a free-will donation.

"The money we make will be used to send our Women In Aviation chapter to the annual international conference," said Kristen Lingg, senior in professional pilot, Stockton, who is helping plan the event. "This year the conference is in Reno, Nev., so the funds will help with transportation, hotel and registration fees."

Women in Aviation, International is a nonprofit organization that encourages the advancement of women who are striving for challenging and fulfilling careers in the aviation and aerospace industries.
