AS&T Consolidates, Expands American Presence
Salina, Kan (October 11, 2006) - Aerospace Systems & Technologies Inc., (AS&T) is consolidating its aircraft ice protection marketing and installation operations and expanding its U.S. presence at the Salina Municipal Airport.

AS&T is a subsidiary of CAV Aerospace Ltd., Consett County Durham, UK, which manufactures the TKS ice protection system. AS&T markets TKS ice protection systems in the United States and completes aircraft installations at the SLN Aviation Service Center at the Salina Municipal Airport, where the company is headquartered.

The Salina Airport Authority is remodeling a larger aircraft hangar and office facilities for AS&T, which will now be able to consolidate all of its operations from a number of locations on the airport. After the service center campus renovation, AS&T's installation, logistics and executive offices will be co- located to assure better customer support. The new facility includes 15,166 square feet of hangar area, 4,480 square feet of executive offices and 3,840 square feet of shipping/receiving and storage space.

"It is a major turn-around time advantage for our customers to have everything under one roof and it will give AS&T the ability to grow the way we need to," said AS&T President Kevin Hawley. The expansion is prompted by a growing number of aircraft models that AS&T supplies with the glycol- based airframe ice protection systems.

Additionally the company needs bigger facilities to house larger aircraft than existing AS&T Salina Airport facilities can handle. The new expanded and consolidated space will permit AS&T installers to work on larger aircraft as large as Raytheon's Hawker 800 business jets, which utilize the TKS system. Currently, AS&T employees 13 people in Salina and after the move, the company plans to add three to four new positions.

Left to Right: Steve Ryan, Chairman, SAA Board of Directors; Cathie Hawley, Material Manager, AS&T and Kevin Hawley, President, AS&T, signed the lease that allows for an expansion of TKS services.

"The AS&T expansion is another example of the Salina Airport Authority's response to the increased business needs of the worldwide aerospace industry," said Tim Rogers, A.A.E., Salina Airport Authority Executive Director.

AS&T's TKS system consists of porous; laser drilled titanium panels that are installed on the leading edges of the aircraft wings, and horizontal and vertical stabilizers. A glycol-based fluid is exuded through the panels and flows over these surfaces keeping the aircraft virtually ice-free.
