FAA Recognizes Salina Airport
for Safety and Design Standards
Kansas City, Kan (October 4, 2006) - The Salina Airport Authority received the Federal Aviation Administration's Regional Airport Safety Enhancement Award.

This award is given to FAA certificated airports that serve scheduled air carrier operations. Recognized airports must not have any discrepancies to the requirements outlined in FAA regulations during the previous three annual inspections.

"This is a great accomplishment for the airports that receive the award. It takes a lot of effort by airport personnel to successfully implement and maintain all the operational, safety and design standards required of a commercial service airport," said Jim Johnson, Manager of the Safety and Standards Branch of the Federal Aviation Administration in Kansas City.

"To go three years without a discrepancy clearly shows that the airport is committed to safety," Johnson said.

"The employees at the SAA are willing to put in the hours and do what it takes to keep everyone safe. I am very proud of the work they have done to make this award possible," said Tim Rogers, A.A.E., Salina Airport Authority Executive Director.
