FAA to sponsor free safety presentation
Salina, Kan., (September 25)- Kansas State University is
partnering with the Federal Aviation Administration Safety Team, known
as FAASTeam, to sponsor a presentation over the aviation safety program
at K-State, Oct. 1 at 7 p.m. in the College Center conference room on
the Salina campus.
The program is free and open to all pilots however, seating is

"Aviation Safety Program at K-State: How the Marshall Field
ground-controlled approach radar service at Fort Riley and direct user
access terminal system can help you" will include discussion of
the new Marshall Field GCA radar services, how to use the new
DUATS, and the operation of K-State's unmanned aerial systems.
Speakers include Ralph Millard, tower chief at Marshall Field; David
Chaffee, U.S. Army developmental test command DUATS marketing director;
Kurt Barnhart, K-State's head of the department of aviation; and
Eric Shapee, K-State's assistant professor of aviation.
The following course credits are available for the FAA's pilot
proficiency/ aviation maintenance technology programs, or WINGS/AMT:
Knowledge Elective Basic 0.50, Knowledge Elective Master 0.50, and
Knowledge Elective Advanced 0.50.
