SAA invites insurance
proposals
Salina, Kan., (August 10, 2010) - The Salina
Airport Authority has recently engaged the services of independent
insurance consulting and risk management firm, Charlesworth and
Associates, LC and is seeking proposals for property, liability and
workers' compensation insurance to be effective January 1,
2011.
Charlesworth and Associates, LC has been providing objective insurance
consulting services since 1977, specializing in public entities.
The firm is neither an insurance agent nor a broker. They do not
sell insurance.
"Our initial focus with the Authority will be to seek competitive
property and liability insurance products from insurance brokers who
demonstrate the capability and capacity to represent the
Authority," explained Member James Charlesworth. "Two
or more qualified brokers will receive a customized request for
proposal outlining the program terms and conditions. Proposals
will be reviewed by our firm and presented to the Authority's
management and Board. It will be our firm's responsibility to
manage all phases of the proposal process and to assure both staff and
the Board understand the proposals offered. Although we may be
asked for a recommendation, our primary focus will be to give the Board
the necessary information to make an informed decision they deem to be in
their best interest. This process for seeking proposals is
equitable to all participants and creates a competitive situation which
we believe benefits the Authority."

Insurance brokers who would like to be included must contact the

Respondents will be provided a coverage summary and broker
pre-qualification questionnaire, including specific instructions and a
sample broker agreement. Two or more brokers will be selected to
receive the RFP.
