FORT RILEY, SALINE COUNTY, CITY OF SALINA PLEDGE
SUPPORT
FORT RILEY, Kan. - Saline County, the city of Salina and
the Soldiers of Fort Riley and the 1st Infantry Division's
Combat Aviation Brigade will pledge their commitment with the signing
of the Army Community Covenant Wednesday, Aug. 4 at 4 p.m.
The signing
will take place in conjunction with the Tri-Rivers Parade at Campbell
Plaza in downtown Salina, Kan.
"We know
the military's increased employment and economic impact is helping
Salina prosper," said Dennis Lauver, Salina Chamber of Commerce,
president and chief executive officer.
"This agreement is an important step at building a true and
sustained regional approach to cooperation and development that will
help the military and will help civilians across the Salina area."
The signing,
along with others that will take place throughout the region, comes as
Fort Riley adds Saline County and the city of Salina to its
partnerships with the implementation of the Fort Riley 2015 Campaign
Plan.
"Every
day, communities like Salina devise new ways, both small and large, to
demonstrate their appreciation for Soldiers and families," said
Maj. Erich Campbell, Rear Detachment commander, Combat Aviation
Brigade. "We are looking forward in affirming the CAB's
relationship with Salina."
Community
members are encouraged to attend to pledge their support to the
Soldiers of Fort Riley and the 1st Infantry Division.
