FORT RILEY, SALINE COUNTY, CITY OF SALINA PLEDGE SUPPORT

FORT RILEY, Kan. - Saline County, the city of Salina and the Soldiers of Fort Riley and the 1st Infantry Division's Combat Aviation Brigade will pledge their commitment with the signing of the Army Community Covenant Wednesday, Aug. 4 at 4 p.m.

The signing will take place in conjunction with the Tri-Rivers Parade at Campbell Plaza in downtown Salina, Kan.

"We know the military's increased employment and economic impact is helping Salina prosper," said Dennis Lauver, Salina Chamber of Commerce, president and chief executive officer.  "This agreement is an important step at building a true and sustained regional approach to cooperation and development that will help the military and will help civilians across the Salina area."

The signing, along with others that will take place throughout the region, comes as Fort Riley adds Saline County and the city of Salina to its partnerships with the implementation of the Fort Riley 2015 Campaign Plan.

"Every day, communities like Salina devise new ways, both small and large, to demonstrate their appreciation for Soldiers and families," said Maj. Erich Campbell, Rear Detachment commander, Combat Aviation Brigade. "We are looking forward in affirming the CAB's relationship with Salina."

Community members are encouraged to attend to pledge their support to the Soldiers of Fort Riley and the 1st Infantry Division.
