"As an owner of Flower Aviation, I am proud to say that we have operated at Salina for the past 30 years. Now we have this brand new building that will allow us to provide even better levels of extraordinary service to our customers for the next 30 years," said Todd Engel, President of Flower Aviation.

Todd's father Eldon Engel began Flower Aviation 37 years ago and now has three convenient locations, in Salina and Garden City, Kan. and Pueblo, Co.

Flower's new $850,000 executive FBO terminal is just the latest major development that the Salina Airport Authority has implemented to handle growing business jet activity at Salina Municipal Airport (SLN).

"Business aircraft are important to the Salina Airport Authority and Flower's new executive terminal is yet another example of response to a growing traffic. Eldon and Todd Engel run a world-class operation and we appreciate their need for the latest state-of-the- art facility to meet customer needs," said Tim Rogers, A.A.E., executive director of the Salina Airport Authority.

Flower Aviation is part of the Avfuel dealer network. Flower also offers overnight aircraft storage in a refurbished 30,800 square foot hangar, capable of storing a wide range of business aircraft up to the size of a Gulfstream G550. The new terminal better serves Flower's substantial transient business aircraft traffic.

More than 4,000 business jets refuel yearly at Flower SLN, which annually pumps over 2.5 million gallons of jet fuel. The FBO specializes in quick-turns, advertising a "Spin of 10 minutes or less."

The new customer service center replaces Flower's previous KSLN facility that served business aviation crews and passengers for some 30 years.

Since 2002, the Salina Airport Authority has spent more than $9 million on airfield improvements, including rehabilitation of the airport's 12,300-foot primary runway, and an all-new reliever runway. These improvements support the more than 7,000 business jets that annually land at America's Fuel Stop.

Salina Municipal Airport is home base for numerous aviation businesses and operations. These include America Jet, Aerospace Systems & Technologies, Inc., EagleMed air ambulance, Kansas Wing Headquarters - Civil Air Patrol, Flower Aviation, Kansas Army National Guard Aviation Support Facility, Kansas State University at Salina, Kansas Highway Patrol Aviation,Professional Flight Training, LC, Raytheon Aircraft Company - Salina Division, Salina Aircraft Services, Wells Aircraft, Inc., and the corporate flight departments for ADM Milling Company, Blue Beacon International, Geoprobe Systems, Pepsi Cola - Salina, Plains Environmental, Premier Pneumatics, Inc., and Bradley Trucking Co.
