Great Lakes Airlines Enhances Salina Service

Great Lakes Aviation, Ltd. will begin an enhanced flight schedule between Salina, Kansas and Denver International Airport as well as Kansas City International Airport beginning July 7, 2008.

Great Lakes Airlines experienced a successful start up since beginning service from Salina to Denver and Kansas City in April.  In just the first two months of service, passengers flying from Salina are up 100%.    For the month of May, passenger levels reached 350 as compared to just 185 during May 2007.

"This initial success has prompted Great Lakes to eliminate the stop in Manhattan for new direct flights to Kansas City," said Salina Airport Authority Executive Director Tim Rogers, A.A.E.

"In addition, there will now be more seats available to go to Denver, with a short stop in Dodge City," Rogers added. Because of the increase in passengers, the local Great Lakes Airlines station in Salina has hired three additional employees who began work in April.
