Salina Airport Authority Elects 2008 Officers, Welcomes New Board Member

 

SALINA, Kans., (March 21, 2008) - The Salina Airport Authority Board of Directors has elected its 2008 leadership. Eric R. Hardman continues as chairman of the five-member board that oversees the growth and development of the Salina Municipal Airport and the Airport Industrial Center. One significant project for 2008 will be the completion of Hangar 600, a 69,000 square-foot hangar facility that has already attracted interest from top aviation prospects.

 

During the March board meeting, Julie Sager Miller was elected vice-chairman and Jeffrey R. Thompson was named secretary.  New board member Troy Vancil was elected treasurer and Stephen C. Ryan continues as past-chairman.

 

New member Troy Vancil, began serving a three-year term in March 2008. He is the owner of Costello Company, Inc. of Salina. He replaced Dr. Randy Hassler who completed two consecutive three-year terms of service to the Airport Authority Board of Directors.

 

Troy Vancil is a lifetime resident of Salina, Kansas and owns his own general contracting business. Vancil began his company in 2000 and during this time the company has grown from one to seven employees.

 

He is the chair for the Domestic Violence Association of Central Kansas Transitional Housing Committee, former chair for the North Central Kansas American Red Cross New Year's Eve fundraiser committee, United Way visiting panel for the united priority council, Housing Authority Board of Directors chairman for three years and active with Friends of the River.

 

Chairman Eric R. Hardman owns and runs Hardman Company, L.L.C.; Vice-Chairman Julie Sager Miller is the Senior Vice President for Advantage Trust Company; Secretary Jeffrey R. Thompson is the President and CEO of Vortex Valves and Past Chairman Stephen C. Ryan is the President of Ryan Mortuary.

 
The Salina Airport Authority Board of Directors is the governing body for the Salina Airport Authority. The Salina City Commission approves its five volunteer members.

Salina Municipal Airport The Salina Municipal Airport is home base for a wide variety of businesses and operations.
