Salina, Kan., (March 10, 2011) -
The K-State Salina Students In Free Enterprise team will host a viewing
of their regional competition presentation open to the public.
Students will present March 11, at 8 a.m. in the College Center
Conference Room on the K-State Salina campus. The SIFE team has
made headlines all year long and is striving to do so once again.
These young men and women have worked hard and are ready for
competition.
On March 17, SIFE members will be
traveling to Dallas, Texas where they will be presenting the results of
their community projects for the year. The students will be
presenting to a panel of judges about the projects they have done and
the impact that each project has made. Teams are then ranked
according to impact. The top teams will advance to the national
competition held in Minneapolis, Minn.
The students have seven minutes
to set-up. During this time judges read the team's annual
report. The team has 24 minutes to present their findings and
then five minutes for question and answer. These times are exact
as there is an official time keeper in each room. If a team is in
the middle of a presentation the time keeper will stop them, notify
them that time is up and the next phase will commence.
SIFE has competed in seven
regional competitions and has advanced to the national competitions
three times. The team is confident in the work that they have
done this year and are looking to advance to nationals again.
"We take this competition
very seriously," said Kristin Scheele, team president.
"The team has worked hard all year long and this is our time to
shine. We show up in our business suits, a smile and a passion
for business. We show them what the K-State Salina SIFE team is
all about."
Come out and support your local
Wildcats as they get ready to represent the Salina community at SIFE
Regionals.
