Marine program provides college students with hands-on flight experience

Salina, Kan., (February 8, 2010) -The U.S. Marine Corps is hosting its Flight Orientation Program for college students who are interested in becoming pilots for the United States Marine Corps at the Salina Airport in Salina, KS from Mar 1-3, 2010.

Students will fly a King Air B90, a cabin-class, twin-engine turbo-prop aircraft a 40-foot wingspan under the guidance of Marine Capt. Kevin "Sunshine" Clark, a KC-130 pilot. He will supervise the introductory flight and speak with the students about their interest in the Marine Corps as well as aviation.

Students participating should be American citizens and usually enrolled in a four-year college. Most participants have no flight experience but some have already obtained a pilot's license and are looking to speak with an experienced Marine aviator.
