Salina Airport Authority
Virgin Atlantic GlobalFlyer Possible Launch Date
Current Status - World-Record Attempt
Salina Airport Authority Announces

Salina, Kan. January 31, 2005 The launch date for the world-record attempt by record-setting pilot Steve Fossett, could now be February 8, 2005. Flying the Virgin Atlantic GlobalFlyer, Steve will attempt the first solo, non- stop, non-refueled around-the-world flight that will launch from and land at the Salina Municipal Airport, known as "America's Fuel Stop".

February 6th no longer looks good due to an area of low pressure and other unfavourable Take-Off conditions. February 8th is now a date being considered. Further forecasts closer to the date will help firm up the exact day of Take-Off.
