Project:
Federal Aviation Administration Airport Improvement Program Project No. 3-20-0072-32
Description:
Rehabilitation of the Salina Municipal Airport’s North General Aviation Apron Connector to Taxiway A map >>
Project Benefits:
The North GA Apron connector is an access point providing aircraft access to the north GA apron redevelopment area. The north GA apron is a public use apron providing access to hangars supporting services to the general aviation and business aviation public. Aviation services will be provided for aircraft ranging from the Boeing Business Jet, all operational business jets and single engine piston aircraft. The SAA has been active in expanding the North Apron in order to provide additional services (such as engine repair, avionics, interior work, airframe repair and aircraft paint) to the aviation community. Growth in this area is planned with multiple hangars of varying sizes and uses including 60,000 sq. ft. hangars (sized to accommodate small GA aircraft, business jets and BBJ aircraft for commercial services) t-hangars, a fuel area and an aircraft wash rack. map2 >>
It is estimated that the SAA north ramp redevelopment project will create an excess of 850 new aviation and aerospace jobs at an annual payroll exceeding $21 million.
Cost:
The total project development cost is
$832,935.40. A grant through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act will provide $823,996 in funds toward the project.
